The New Zealand Banking Association has been working closely with New Zealand banks to protect consumers and reduce the impact of fraud on the country's financial system. On 18th September 2024, GetVerified Limited was incorporated as part of the New Zealand banking industry’s commitment to championing anti-scam initiatives.
The Confirmation of Payee service is one of our first initiatives and will be rolled out in phases by New Zealand banks to consumers and businesses, starting at the end of November 2024.
In addition to establishing and maintaining the governance of the Confirmation of Payee service, we provide ongoing services to banks and participating organisations. These services include onboarding, monitoring, support, and delivering innovations to enhance consumer protection.
At GetVerified, we continue to collaborate with New Zealand banks to monitor and assess the financial industry, identifying fraud and scam trends and their impact on New Zealanders. We also work as part of a broader ecosystem of organisations to develop and implement solutions that safeguard New Zealanders from scams and fraud.
